The Gold Coast is home to several world class surf breaks. So crowds, powerfull waves and feedback from many surfboard manufacturers have enabled us to create an alternative fin system that is still compatible with a large portion of common manufacturing techniques & fins.
COMPATIBILITY
Over the past 10 years there have been a number of fin systems developed for the surfing industry but none of them were compatible with any other systems on the market
FIN SOLUTIONS
is the only system compatible with another fin system. You can use our latest computer designed fin shape or your favorite fin template from your own range of FCS fins.
The grub screw and keys are both interchangable and can be used in both systems
FIN SOLUTIONS can be fitted after the board is glassed with FCS installation kit or you can use a routing jig supplied by Australian Fin Co. The is no need to attach the boxes to the deck of the board, which will stop boxes being pushed out over time with feet depressions.
When installing, resins are very important to the overall performance of our product. We have found through testing that Polyester laminating or filler resin ( most commonly used in glassing surfboards ) causes gassing when catalyzed. This gas is styrene gas, which escapes up the side of the box causing the resin not to bond. We recommend slow set Epoxy. Extra hold in the resin is achieved because the plug is wider at the base plus a step 2/3 from the bottom surrounds each end of the box. The fin base is a single piece giving the fin a very realistic flex through the foil without losing drive. Superior drive & realistic fin foil flexibility is achieved with the single piece fin & hi-tech streamlined base.
